Message from the President
When you face a challenging task, it’s good to know you have friends, isn’t it?
In an increasingly secular age, the task of preaching – and teaching those who preach – is a challenging calling. That’s one reason the Evangelical Homiletics Society has become such a valued resource for so many.
Through EHS, we have the opportunity to develop and nurture meaningful relationships with others who share the high calling God has placed upon us. Through our journal, newsletter, scholarly papers and annual meeting, those who value homiletics have a place to share insights and learn together.
At an EHS annual meeting, you have the opportunity to learn about the latest scholarship in homiletics, hear insightful speakers, worship as you are blessed by outstanding preaching, and meet others who share your calling. At an EHS meeting, you’ll have the chance to meet and develop relationships with the leaders and scholars who write the texts you use.
EHS is for those who teach preaching and for those preachers who value greater opportunities to study and develop their craft and increase their knowledge in the field of homiletics. And more than strictly an academic and professional organization, EHS is a place to build relationships with colleagues across North America and around the world.
We invite you to become part of our EHS family.
EHS President, 2018-19
Dean, Clamp Divinity School
